2026 whooptopia track selection

2026 track design contest

Pilots, the videos below showcase the Top 5 finalist tracks for the Whooptopia 2026 Track Design Contest!

This year we received more than double the submissions compared to last year, and every entry was reviewed by highly skilled, reputable track designers to narrow the field to these five incredible courses.

Before voting, please fly each track in Velocidrone using the Whooptopia 2026 Template to get a true feel for their flow, creativity, and race potential. Once you’ve tested them all, cast your vote for your favorite using the community voting link.

Thank you for your participation, your honesty, and for helping shape the next Whooptopia race experience!

whooptopia 2026 track design contest

Here at Whooptopia, we will be hosting a Track Design Contest again for the event in February 2026.

On November 5th, we will start accepting entries for the track design contest, and we will be closing it on November 20th.

Then we will open community voting from November 25th through December 5th.

Track Design Details

We will be using Velocidrone as the simulator for designing the course. There is a template created with the gates available to use on Velocidrone now. It’s titled “Whooptopia 2026 Template.”

Individuals can load Velocidrone and either search:

  • Player Name: AyyyKayyy

  • Track Name: Whooptopia 2026 Template

For the double high gates and the triple high gate, you can have the gates flown in either direction — you do not need to keep them in the direction they currently face.

For the double gates with pylons attached, you are not required to use the pylons, but you may if you wish. You will notice that two of the double highs have pylons on them in the template.

The dive gate can be used as either a launch gate or a dive gate — it’s the designer’s choice.

For the 270 gate, you must keep it constructed the same as in the template, but you can fly through the gates in any order of your choosing.

Please do not separate the double or triple gates into single gates as they are preconstructed. Please use the gates as they appear in the template.

Submission Instructions

Tracks must be submitted directly to Anthony Knight. You can send him the .trk file via Facebook or Discord.

Anthony Knight will NOT be participating in the track design contest; therefore, submissions can be sent to him safely.

Pilots entering the track design contest are NOT to tell friends which track is theirs.
If the internal Whooptopia team notices an entry being promoted to friends to gain votes, we reserve the right to disqualify that track.

Cheating will not be tolerated — please play by the rules!

Each pilot may submit a maximum of one entry. You may not enter more than one track.

When you download the template, please make sure to rename the track. Do not save and overwrite the template track.

Selection Process

Once all tracks are submitted, the internal Whooptopia team will verify that each track meets the requirements outlined here.

From there, we will down-select the top five tracks to move on to the voting phase for public/community voting.

Voting will be open through a Google Form, limited to one vote per person.
We rely on the community to participate honestly and fairly.

Design Area Rules

Once inside the template, you will notice the start block. Please keep the start block in this area as it aligns with the event setup.

Please use the open space for the course itself — do not go behind the Gemfan barriers near the tents.
Only use the open area where all the template gates are located.

Questions

If you have any questions, please contact Anthony Knight directly.
